You might be wondering, what is a batgirl? Well, bats are nocturnal, and there is a certain girl (named Abigail) that likes to stay up late and have fun, so one time we said "what are you, some kind of bat-girl?", and we really liked the sound of it! So that girl became batgirl #1.

On Christmas day 2006, Abigail found the My Little Pony game "Runaway Rainbow" under the tree! There are 5 chapters and 14 mini-games.

Wow, Abigail finished the game in less than 2 hours! We might add the characters to our own game sometime...
Abigail and Jamie went to see Flushed Away, which was made by DreamWorks and Aardman (who made movies like Shrek and Wallace and Grommit). We really liked it! Here are some scenes from the movie:

The first PC game that batgirl #1 ever finished on her own was Brother Bear. Abigail got this in 2004, played it most of that summer, and still plays sometimes. In April 2006 she finally beat the Denahi fighting part by herself! Anyway, its a long, beautiful, 3D adventure game with nice music, and narration by some of the movie characters. Kids will especially like it if they liked the movie Brother Bear. Click the pictures below to see a bigger screenshot:

We also got the Madagascar Activity Center, whose box looks a lot like the PC action game above, but you use the mouse more than the arrow keys. Here's a picture:

The new favorite game here is a horse-riding game called Saddle Up: Time to Ride. In this game you have to take care of your horses - groom them, feed them, even clean the stables! Then you get to go on rides, compete in shows, and try to solve the mystery of the horse ranch along the way!

Commander Keen is a super fun PC game from the early 1990's. A little boy named Billy Blaze goes on adventures, collecting candy and zapping creatures with his ray gun. When the creatures get zapped, they just get dizzy and have little stars spinning around their heads, so its not really scary. Here are some of the characters from Episode 4:

Episode 4 is free and is available here: 4keen.zip (from 3D Realms). This game will provide weeks of fun, and will even run on old computers like a 286 with a VGA monitor and a sound card. Its not as easy as some kids games, so usually batgirl #1 sits next to her Daddy and helps with the easy parts, while he does most of the jumping around and zapping.
